What’s worse, new wounds which are so horribly painful or old wounds that should’ve healed years ago and never did? Maybe our old wounds teach us something. They remind us where we’ve been and what we’ve overcome. They teach us lessons about what to avoid in the future. That’s what we like to think. But that’s not the way it is, is it? Some things we just have to learn over and over and over again.
When you think about that person constantly, when you want to be with that person every second, when everything you see remind you of that person, when you find yourself always running to pick them back up even after they hurt you, when you care about that person despite all they’re mistakes, when they’re the person who you think of when you’re laying in bed at the end of the day, when the little things they do make you smile and make your heart beat fast no matter how wrong they did you…that’s love.
